Emily Haverkamp graduated from the University of Kansas in 2002 with a double major in Political Science and Spanish. She graduated from the KU School of Law in 2005. After serving in the Peace Corps in Guatemala in 2007 and extensive travel to Mexico, El Salvador, and Honduras, Emily pursued her passion for helping people on their paths to citizenship.  Emily practiced immigration law in Kansas City through 2011. She then worked as a Senior Asylum Officer and a Supervisory Refugee Officer for the USCIS, where she determined eligibility in hundreds of asylum cases. Emily is fluent in Spanish and has more than 13 years of experience in immigration.  Emily has also authored numerous professional publications on immigration.
